To Whom It May Concern:

            My name is Nathan Rice and I am a senior in Computer Science at Texas Tech University.  I have known the LORD for 15 years now and am rapidly growing in my walk with Christ as I am heavily engaged in ministries in Lubbock, on the internet, and now increasingly in the Dallas area.  I am involved in Campus Crusade for Christ, Kappa Upsilon Chi (a non-Greek Christian fraternity), UP Focus (a Bible Study I started at my dorm in Lubbock), and my home church here in Richardson, Heights Baptist, where I have been a member for about eight years. 

Over the course of this past year an opportunity arose for me to serve God with Josh McDowell Ministries this summer as an intern, which involves working with them in ministry to reach people across the world for Christ.  As I began to struggle more and more with the thought of giving up my summer to this pursuit, I felt God calling me to do so.  This summer as an intern I'll make significant contributions to web-related outreach efforts alongside their ministry (including a site that is under development and will translate some of Josh’s apologetic material into seven different languages and make them freely available to the world), work with poverty-stricken kids in the Garland and downtown Dallas areas in VBS style programs and help influence them for Christ, and make a trip to Russia to minister to physical and spiritual needs of Russians in St. Petersburg (we'll be visiting hospitals, orphanages, welfare centers, youth camps, and other places with much needed supplies, much needed love, and the much needed Gospel).  In addition to this, I will be traveling to Camp Fish this next week as a counselor and leading worship at an AIA camp (Campus Crusade for Christ sponsored camp to reach swimmers) in Colorado in late June.  More detail of what this looks like and how the summer is progressing is posted on a website I am currently developing at http://JMM.seekthetruth.net , which I encourage you to check out as I continue to work on it and update it.       

            At this point I am currently engaged in raising support for the summer internship, the total cost of which comes to $2435.  Will you consider offering a donation of any amount you feel willing, able, and called to offer to partner with me in reaching these people for Christ?  If you are at the point where you do not feel you need to be supporting this effort financially, please consider keeping it in prayer.  I am also trying to earn the money any way I can, so if you'd be willing to employ my tax deductible services as a swimming teacher, website designer, or something else, please let me know.
